Dr. Chienkong utilizes various types of tools, and different styles of adjusting, muscle work, and rehab.

The style of adjusting and muscle work is based on your individual condition, needs, and goals.

Chiropractic Adjustments

  • Diversified Adjusting -  This is the technique most people see or think of when they think chiropractic.  This technique is a hands on manual technique that may produce an audible cavitation (crack) when the adjustment is performed.
  • Activator Adjusting - This technique utilizes the Activator tool which makes a clicking sound when used.  This is a gentler way of adjusting, and doesn't usually involve the body being rotated or moved around.  Usually there is no cavitations with this adjustment.
  • Manual Mobilization - This technique is manual therapy that is aimed at improving motion in the joints and range of motion.
  • Drop Piece Adjusting - This technique utilizes the table to help facilitate the adjustment.  The table will be propped up under the patient, and will drop back down using gravity to assist in the adjustment.

Muscle Work

  • Hypervolt Massage - The Hypervolt massage gun uses percussion massage.  The massage gun can help relax tight muscles, and minimize muscle soreness and tenderness.
  • Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) - IASTM has many benefits, but some benefits of IASTM are: can speed up healing time, reduce  inflammation, break up adhesions and scar tissue, and improve mobility.
  • Myofascial release - Myofascial release is used to reduce tension, and release trigger points across various muscles.
  • Cupping Therapy - cupping therapy is used to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation, and wellness.

Electrical Stimulation Therapies

  • Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) -  EMS can be used in conjuction with chiropractic adjustments and manual therapy to reduce pain, swelling, and recovery time.
  • Interferential Therapy (IF) - IF can be used in conjuction with chiropractic adjustments and manual therapy to relieve pain and speed up healing time.  IF does this by stimulation the skin, tissue, and nerves with small electrical impulses that increase blood flow to the affected area to promote healing.

Biomechanical Rehabilitation

  • Therapeutic Exercise/Stretches - A few key exercises or stretches along with chiropractic care can go a long way in ensuring that you and your body can stay functioning optimally and pain free.
